The Outfit I've Been Dying to Wear Since December Challenge

This was one of the first outfits I put together. I was sad that I couldn't wear it right away. It was 30 or 40 degrees outside and wearing shorts and REALLY bright colors would have
1. Probably resulted in frostbite
2. Been a fashion faux pas in January.

Drumroll please! bddddddddddd!

He is the faithful sidekick and friend. He is Flounder. Wiki has a great little bio on Ariel's special friend. Click here.  I have to say that real life flounders are incredible animals. How many creatures can say that their eyes start out on top of their flat body and with time each eye moves to its designated side? Well, flounders can't actually say it, but you know what I mean! :)

The Character: Flounder

The Outfit: Yellow shirt from American Eagle 2010
                   Turquoise shorts from Goodwill 2011
Silver belt from my mom 2012
                   Silver sandals from Target 2011
Pearl earrings from 2010--I feel like
they were appropriate for this "Under the
                   Sea" character.

The Disneybound Inspiration:

Have no fear fellas. There is a Flounder outfit for you too.

Yeah...If someone wears this, I'll give him a big hug!

Of course I had to pose like Flounder...

Try it!

The Dreamy Challenge

This leading lady was the only blonde heroine I embraced this past month. I did 4 beautiful ladies with jet black tresses and a little doe with brown fur. I felt as if I needed to return to my roots...literally. :)

Drumroll please! bdddddddddd!

She is the beautiful Aurora. I believe Aurora is one of the prettiest of all the leading ladies. Her hair is the color of sunshine, and what do I love but sunshine. She wears pink, and I love pink. She's a princess. What more can Prince Philip ask for? He is one lucky guy. I will say that her movie is scary, but she makes it better by being glamorous.

The Character: Aurora*Sleeping Beauty

The Outfit: Pinky dress from Ross 2009
Owl necklace from my grandmother circa 1960s
Gold sandals from New York and Company 2011
Gold bracelet from New York and Company 2011
Gold headband from Kyleigh 2011---In this case, the
                  headband is a tiara.

The Disneybound Inspiration:

I hope this blog post didn't cause you to sleep. I do hope that the next time you close your eyes for a rest your dreams are sweet!

The Getting Down to Business Challenge

This character is spectacular. As always, the question is...who is she?

Drumroll please! bddddddddddddd!

She is the one and only Mulan. You may be wondering about the color scheme of this outfit. The gal behind Disneybound chose to design a Mulan outfit based on her cherry blossom side that attempts to make peace with the matchmaker. If you've seen the movie, you know that it doesn't turn out that great. The good news is that Mulan goes forward and SAVES all of China AND gets a man. It's a win/win situation. I do have to say that the matchmaker had it coming. She was kind of a pill.

The Character: Mulan

The Outfit: Purple Cardigan/shrug from Dress Barn 2011
Purple cami from New York and Company 2009
Cherry blossomy shirt from American Eagle 2010
Gray shorts from Target a gift in 2012
                  Silver sandals from Target 2011

The Disneybound Inspiration:

This is my "Let's get down to business" and save China face. I know that you are intimidated!

The Like Mother Like Daughter Challenge

Dear Readers,
I apologize for the lack of posting. The end of the school year was crazy. Don't get me wrong, it was great being with friends and celebrating graduation, but it was crazy nonetheless! I will be making up to you with multiple posts this week.

Here we go.

Drumroll please! bdddddddddddddddd!

Ariel's precious daughter Melody. She follows in her mother's footsteps by over stepping boundaries and disobeying. Thankfully she, like Ariel, learns her lesson.

The Character: Melody

The Outfit: Cream colored blouse from Ann Taylor 2011
Coral capris from Ann Taylor 2009
Blue vest/shrug thing from New York and Company 2011
Gold sandals from New York and Company 2011
                   Gold headband from Kyleigh 2010

The Disneybound Inspiration:

I'm sorry for taking such a long break. Don't worry. I will be back full swing from this post on.

The Pale Challenge

To be honest, this movie frightened me and I never really appreciated the story. The redeeming quality...the colors.

Drumroll please! bddddddddd!

The ivory Snow White. I had many people that know about our challenge guess who I was. I also had people that had no idea about our challenge remark that I looked like Snow White. I couldn't decide if that were a good thing or not. I felt a little costumey, but I do love this outfit. I do not, however, love the movie Snow White. The Huntsman and the witch S-C-A-R-E-D me to death. I will say that Snow's prince is very gentile and chivalrous, and her friends are also to be admired for their devotion. I think I need to watch it again...

The Character: Snow White

The Outfit: Blue top from mom's closet 2011
                   Yellow skirt from Goodwill 2011
Red belt from my mom from 1990s
                   Red flats from Target 2008
                   Pearl headband from Kohl's 2011

The Disneybound Inspiration:

There is nothing like wearing all of the primary colors in one outfit. You should try it sometime.

The Persian Challenge

I LOVE this princess! When I was little I had a necklace with her on it, which I wore proudly in my preschool picture day photo. I had a wind up toy of her pet that went to Yemen with us. I love this girl. There was a time when I would watch her over and over and over. Thankfully, my mom intervened and the tape mysteriously "went missing" for some time. I needed that intervention, but I have since then been allowed to watch her.

Drumroll please! bdddddddddddd!

Aladdin's one true beauty, Jasmine. She is intelligent, resourceful, beautiful, rides through the sky on a magic carpet, and has a pet tiger. For the most part, her life is glamorous lest we forget the period of time Jafar takes her captive. That is NO good! Have no fear, her Aladdin comes to her rescue. It's so sappy, but it is colorful, magical songs are sung, and Robin Williams is Genie! Way to go Disney!

The Character: Princess Jasmine

The Outfit: Turquoise dress from Holidays 2010
                  Gold shoes from Target 2011
Gold headband and earrings from Christmas 2011
Gold bracelet from Kyleigh's closet 2012

The Disneybound Inspiration:

This is me trying to pose like Jasmine...

Have a Persian-ific (colorful) Day!

The Dainty Challenge

I'm so sorry that I have not posted my first Leading Ladies outfit until now. The past week and a little bit have been crazy!

The little lady I portrayed is one of the preshy-est ones. Here is my version!

Any guesses? Here is a little hint. She is the daintiest woodland creature you will find!
Drum rolle please! bddddddddddddd!

She is Bambi's favorite. She is sweet little Faline! Please look at her lovely eyes! I think Bambi is very lucky to have her! Factoid- Bambi was always sad and frightening to me, but I LOVED all of the bright colors in the forrest. Colors will get me every single time!

The Character: Faline

The Outfit: Pink ruffle camp from New York & Company 2011
Oatmeal cardigan from Ann Taylor 2009
                   Khaki shorts from Target 2010
Gold sparkly Oxfords from DSW 2011
* I had on some cherry blossom earrings, but the wind got the better of them. They didn't blow out of my ears, but it was a little uncomfortable. The earrings were from Target 2009 in case you were wondering. :)

Disneybound Inspiration:

I wanted to embrace Faline that day. Here is my photo of daintiness.

I'm going insert a comical, but embarrassing to me story. I wore this outfit on a Tuesday which means I wore it during a Proclamation rehearsal. Please keep in mind that I had already been to my 8 o'clock class and around campus a little bit. You remember my friend Mr. C from here? Well, he stopped me during our 5 minute break asked if my sweater was inside out because a tag was showing on the side... I HAD BEEN WEARING IT INSIDE OUT ALL MORNING... I really shouldn't be embarrassed, but I felt like melting on the floor. I had been all around campus and seen several people! Don't get me wrong I am very thankful that he told me, but of course that happened. The day I try to be very dainty and it goes a little awry!

Before I end this post, I have one more thing to share. Isn't this picture adorable? I hope you think so!

Have a lovely/dainty day!
